If you’re going to have two straight years of extra-severe drought followed by an attempt by Mother Nature to wash away all that dry in one 24-hour period, you can absolutely count on said event to occur on Halloween. Six inches of rain and counting.
When I was a kid in a much colder clime than subtropical Texas, it always rained on Halloween excepting those years in which it snowed. Still, candy!
