Sorry about being incommunicado for so long, but we’ve been going through times of upheaval and change, mostly for the good, I hope.
We sold the “farm” out west of here, for one thing, opting to stay nearer to Houston and other family members instead of retiring to the Texas Outback and endless weeks of hoisting the chainsaw and riding the tractor.
Our plan was to take our time and eventually find a nice place northwest of Houston, but not too far away. Then, so we thought, once the kids were out of school and heading somewhere on their own, we’d sell this One Acre Ranch on the Brazos River in Richmond, and move for good to Brenham or Navasota or Bellville.
Instead, it wasn’t three weeks after selling the farm that we stumbled upon a nicely redeveloped home with which we fell in love, all of two miles away from this old place we’re in now. I really didn’t see that coming, but it appears as though we will own it in a couple of weeks.
So, Richmond for the duration, apparently. You just go where the Universe puts you.
